How to
Join
How to Join:
The orchestra is open to any young person in the Warrington area aged 8 to 20 years old who plays an orchestral instrument. We do not take absolute beginners (except for the beginners strings group) however anyone who has been learning an instrument for a few months will be able to join in with the junior groups
More experienced players are more than welcome, particularly string players. When you first arrive we will place you with the appropriate group depending on the grade you have attained, then after a few weeks we will confirm your position with a short informal audition with one of our tutors.
As a member of Warrington Youth Orchestra, at whatever level, we expect a commitment of at lease 80% attendance.
Cost
Full membership of the Warrington Youth Orchestra is £29.00 per term for the first child in a family, subsequent children get a £2.00 Reduction. Junior groups attend for half the morning and pay half membership. There are three terms in a year.
If a child wishes to hire and instrument but is not in any orchestra or group then he or she would become an associate member, this is charged at £10.00 per term.
